I am not really into the tradition of Halloween, but didn't want to spoil the fun. With thanks to Donna for providing some cutesy Halloween snags, which appear in my sidebar.
A tip: If you want to put a graphic in the sidebar which is a lot wider than the 137 pixels (you'll notice that after you've put it in), you can reduce its width. When you're editing the sidebar, switch to HTML view and add after the image-URL, but before the ">" sign the code width=137. That will adjust the size of the image, and it will neatly fit into your sidebar. I have gone off a few journals because graphics in the sidebar spilled into the text, making said text impossible to read. Some journals also need to review the colours of fonts and backgrounds. I find dark-blue text on a black background impossible to read, to give but an example.
OK I'll end the moan. Have a nice weekend all and everybody.

I too find some of the backgrounds also some colours make it difficult ,to read the journal ,.,.,.,Jan xx
ReplyDeleteI agree with you on the backgrounds and text colors making it difficult. Also, the size of the text can make it hard to read. I hope people will take this entry to heart! Sometimes I've just closed out a journal without reading it if the colors are too hard for me to see. I won't struggle with it.

That is why I always use the white background and even then if you chose a really light color font it is difficult to read so I stick with the darker colors. Helen

How do you switch to html view in the side bars....?///I will have to take that on when my brain says you can figure this out

I am very interested in how to spice up a journal, as some do it very well. I can see that the technical aspects of side bar you master easily, but I go slow. I fooled around tonight with clip art in microsoft word, but used to have better in publisher when doing the newsletter here at the Westward Ho. Any way, am going to take my time. The Donna graphic of rain on the dark house made me shiver. Gerry
