Hurricane update - 21 September

Hurricane Helene is going to follow in the path of Hurricane Gordon, now absorbed into a strong Atlantic depression south of Ireland. Watch the forecast if you're in Wales or the West Country. Helene, to return to subject matter, will end up as a deep depression west of Ireland early next week.

If anybody has contacts in Iwo Jima, an island group south of Japan, they have cause for concern. Supertyphoon Yagi will ravage the islands with winds of 160 mph, gusting to 190 mph early on Saturday, local time.

  1. Oh wow a super-typhoon, when was the last one - Japanese Islands again I think.  Imagine winds at that velocity, eh?  190 mph - better than a cuppa cafe to perk one up!  CATHY
