Evening notes

So Scotland did not qualify for the Euro 2008 football finals. They lost 1-2 to Italy at Hampden Park, Edinburgh. Next subject.

Two young women who went missing in 1991 have been traced to a house in Margate in Kent, where their remains were found buried in a garden. House and garden will now be scoured for possibly other corpses. A man has been charged with one murder. For legal reasons, I cannot give further details about Peter Tobin. One set of human remains is yet to be formally identified. A parallel with Rosemary West, whose house at 25 Cromwell Street in Gloucester turned out to be a house of horrors, with a dozen corpses buried in and around it, cannot be avoided. Her partner Fred committed suicide, but she is serving life for her crimes

Off to supper - vegetable curry.

  1. Am intrigued about any other addresses Peter Tobin resided at. Feel for those who lost relatives and also anyone living at his current/or past addresses.
As for the football - it's a banned subject here - I hate it!
    Keep laughing.

  2. Sorry about the Euro close call.  As for Fred West, I remember reading - is it true there might've been a ritualistic, maybe misguided satantic aspect to the murders? (we don't always get the simple facts here, many times things are sensationalized) Still, didn't they find body parts as well as corpses?  Could be ritualistic sacrafices, who knows.  I do remember how Fred hung himself in jail by using his bed frame to tie a rope to, only about 5 inches off the floor - he must've had to literally force himself to strangulate.  How horrid.  And worse their victims and the survivors.  But how could they include their own daughter in such nefarious deeds?  Or was that rumor as well?  Either way, it was so sad.  CATHY

  5. How depressing about the football results!  I suppose Italy was formidable.

This murderer you talk of certainly had no respect for life. I wonder how many more they will find him accountable for?  If any good comes from it then It will be that the families will be able to have closure on the loss of their loved one.
