OK, I dilute my rant regarding the changes to journals. An entry was put out on the Magic Smoke journal - at 9.30pm EST last night, which is 2.30 am in the morning over here. So, we in the UK had no warning at all. Left a comment on the Magic Smoke blog. I can foresee another exodus happening at this rate.

I thought Magic Smoke had gone after Joe was given the chop. I shall go and look but believe me, they will not change it now. I remember the hundreds in the U.S. that protested. They were ignored, they left.

I can't see the point in letting others make an entry in your journal. It then wouldn't be your own journal but the journal community. I don't believe that will go over to well. Anyone can go into it and put whatever they feel like putting and that wouldn't be you. I don't even pay any attention to the ads anymore and have never clicked into any of them. Helen

ReplyDeletePS. I have been to magic smoke and said that they could at least issue us with a disclaimer for the ads which is what they had to do with American journals. Whether they will take any notice I do not know.

I haven't yet caught up with your earlier rant. I will note that I'm not seeing any advertising on your journal. Then again, I don't go to your main journal page (nor anyone else's, really). I get an alert, and click on that. While in that particular entry, I may peruse the sidebar with other entries listed. Hence, I rarely see the main page and I"m not seeing any ads:) Magic Smoke posting at 9:32pm EST means many of us didn't see this notice until today, either.
