Gale 8 November
A handful of pictures from yesterday's gale. Normally, you'd expect me to come up with dramatic waves, crashing on the shore at the Coastguard Station. It was no use going there yesterday, as the wind was offshore, from the northwest. So, it's just dramatic cloudscapes. The wee video below shows the spindrift being blown along by a severe squall at 9.30 am. Note for fast responders: the video may not be immediately available.

The video does make it come alive:) I'm just as happy NOT to be attempting to sail in that. Well, sailing would be fairly impossible. In any larger boat, either.
ReplyDeleteThe current is really moving is the video, I wouldn't have wanted to be in the water at that time. Your pictures are great, very ominous. I loved the rainbow.

I have enjoyed all of your photos Guido. You can see from this video how the wind can chase the sea along in front of it. Much like what was happening all the way down the North Sea in the wee small hours of this morning. Thank goodness their was no flooding!

Glad you are okay up there! I was worried you would be flooded out!
