Internet gripe

What I find annoying when browsing the net is waiting for all the blessed advertising to load. The main page is up in a flash, but then you've got to wait for the ad-servers to jump into action. Then, when you do a spyware sweep, you find all the blessed cookies that they've left behind. And I still don't like the advertising above our journals, for the simple reason that you have to scroll down before you can start to read.

  1. Yes, it's all very annoying.  However, it's the only internet we've got and it is still much better than having no internet at all.  Eventually some regulation of advertising will have to be done on a world scale.  Until they figure out how to do that, we'll all just have to slog along and be thankful for what we've got.  Oh, did I mention I hate these annoyances too?

  2. It takes ages for my AOL page  to load also.  I've given up being frustrated and make a brew or do something whilst it decides to spew out all the ads etc.
I go in and out of my spyware to make sure I have deleted everything as its slows my pleasure down if they plant spybots.
I too am fed up with it...but c'est la vie!   I suppose........

  3. I'm always amazed at how slowly my AOL pages load compared to other sites I visit outside AOL.  When I had dial up I would actually walk away and come back - at least I don't have to do that anymore.

  5. I agree !  But I think it's something we're stuck with.  Maybe the advertising is keeping our monthly AOL rates down. HA HA HA   Linda in WA

  6. The thing is , I don't think the ignorant idiots who do the advertising realize, we are not paying attention to them. When something annoys you , you tend to shut it out or ignore it. So I get a small amount of pleasure knowing they are paying for a service that is coming away empty. (Hugs) Indigo
