Hurricane John - 1 September

Hurricane John will be hitting Cabo San Lucas at the far southern tip of Baja California in 12 hours time (0300 GMT or early evening local time) with winds of 105 kts / 130 mph. A hurricane warning remains in effect for the southern Baja Peninsula from San Everisto southward on the east coast, and from Bahia Magadalena southward on the west coast. Preparations to protect life and property should be rushed to completion.

A tropical storm warning remains in effect for the central Baja California Peninsula from Punta Abreojos southward to Bahia Magdalena on the west coast, and from Loreto southward to San Everisto on the east coast.

A hurricane watch remains in effect along the west coast of the Baja Peninsula from Bahia Magdalena to Punta Abreojos.

A tropical storm watch remains in effect along the east coast of the Baja Peninsula from Loreto northwards to Mulege.

  1. Makes me so glad to live in a country where such weather conditions are extremely rare. I feel so sorry for these people.

  2. I hope those people get evacuated before it hits.  It's been humid here. Last night sitting outside by the fire, it was very humid. Cool, but humid. I suspect it's partly from John.
    Thanks for the information.
