Tropical cyclone ERNESTO is now inland, and its sole danger is large rainfall totals. Over the past 24 hours, up to 10 inches [250 mm] have fallen in parts of the eastern USA. I copy the flood warning, as issued by the Hydrometeorological Prediction Center in Maryland. The Hurricane Center has issued its last advisory on ERNESTO.
Flood warnings are in effect for portions of eastern North Carolina and Virginia. Flash flood warnings are in effect for portions of eastern Maryland and eastern Virginia. Coastal flood warnings are in effect for portions of northern Virginia, District of Columbia and southern and eastern Maryland. Flash flood watches are in effect for portions of eastern North Carolina, Virginia, eastern West Virginia, Maryland, Delaware, New Jersey, Pennsylvania and New York.
