Impersonation - 29 December

I am very angry with AOL, and have forwarded a copy of the offending journal to the legal team at Mileyworld.com. The journal is private now, and only accessible to those that the user sees fit to allow. However, the user could reinstate it at any point. The danger is therefore NOT past. I'll consider whether to relay a copy to all, for you to forward to mileyworld as well.

  1. I have also written to the legal team at the genuine site and forwarded a copy to you.  I will put it in stronger terms than you, we were lied to by AOL, the account was NOT terminated.

  2. Ridiculous...I guess AOL doesn't want to lose that twenty-something dollars a month.  Shame on them.

  4. I agree with this entry and the one below 100%.  AOL has a duty to protect against such.  I certainly hope Mileyworld throws the book at both.  Chris

  5. I added it to my alerts, so will know if it comes back into the "Public" forum.  I don't know why I did it, but now I'm glad I did....I'll let everyone know if I get an alert. Linda in WA

This whole thing has seemed rather strange, and I am surprised that AOL did not follow through with the closing of this journal and pulling the offending screen name's account.  I've known others that were TOS'd for far less. (TOS for Terms Of Service, the agreement we all must abide by.)  I'll interested to learn how this all shakes out in the end.
