It is reported just in the last few minutes that someone shot opposition politician Benazir Bhutto, then exploded a suicide bomb. It happened at a pre-election rally in Rawalpindi, near Lahore. Ms Bhutto died in the attack.

I heard about this earlier this morning. At that point, the newscaster had heard only that she died with a suicide bomb, which made it sound, well, as if she hadn't been shot, but had planned to die. I'm glad to hear the more accurate update. Very sad. I'm sure we'll be hearing more as well.
ReplyDeleteI saw that on the AOL welcome page when I signed on this morning. I missed the early morning news. And haven't turned CNN on to see what's going on. I sure hope this event doesn't create further unrest in that area. Linda
