Nanjing 1937
China is remembering the dead of Nanjing (Nanking). Up to 300,000 people were massacred by occupying Japanese forces in the eastern city over a period of 6 weeks. Some Japanese historians put the number of dead far lower, or even deny the massacre ever took place. Although Japan has apologised for its militaristic past, any atonement for atrocities committed in its name is yet to come forth.

It seems no nation wants to accept the responsibility of their atrocities. Some say the holocaust didn't happen to the degree history portrays either. Sad.
