A bit of a distasteful subject, but it made the headlines, so here goes. First Scotrail, which operates train services in Scotland, has refurbished its fleet of 80 Class 158 trains, which operate in the far north of Scotland.

However, the refurbishment passed by the train toilets. Usually, when you go to the toilet on the train, the waste falls directly onto the track below. Pressure groups have criticised the train company for not installing toilets that do not discharge onto the track. Apart from an unsightly mess on the track, particularly at stations, it is obviously also unhygienic. And people will ignore the instructions not to use the loos when the train is stationary.
There are Controlled Emission Toilets, which store waste in a tank under the train. I can't help saying here: No SH*T!!!
