Monday jottings

Weather doesn't know what to do with itself today. Low cloud passes along, drops some drizzle (did that all day yesterday), then moves off again to leave us with some brightness. It's not cold, 8C / 46F today.

Our ferry service is being carried out by a new ferry, the MV Clansman, pictured below.
MV Clansman

Our own chuggie-boat is now in dry-dock at Birkenhead, west of Liverpool, for its annual refit. Once the Isle of Lewis is out of dry-dock, the Clansman will go down for its own overhaul.

The local radiostation, Isles FM, wasn't quite up to speed with the news this morning. On Saturday, a carcrash near the airport left 5 people injured. Not worthy of a mention on the local news. Oh, the revamp of the ferry terminal with new lights and seats was news. Elsewhere in Scotland, 13 people died in road traffic accidents this weekend alone.

  1. Weird how some folks prioritise news...that was an awful lot of lives lost this weekend and not a mutter..eh?   Sad..sad!  May God Bless those whose lives are now gone; and the families they have left behind.
We are experiencing sunny spells down here in the Lakes.  One minute I look out from my hosehold chores and say...I'll nip out for a walk soon and the next it looks as though its going to rain.  It's mild though...I have all the windows open in the house to give it a blast through and I'm sitting here in a t/shirt!  Weird weather.  Lol!  Jeanie
