Over the last half an hour, the wind has dropped away from the force 9 earlier on, and it's now a mere force 4, a moderate breeze. Judging by the rainfall radar and satellite images from the Met Office, the worst of the weather has now passed over our outpost; the rest of the UK stands warned against strong winds. What follows is heavy showers, and higher up in the mountains there will be snow from about 1,000 ft upwards.
Another climber fell to his death in the Cairngorms this afternoon, in the same area where 2 people perished in November. No details have been released.
That's me done for today, I'll be heading off to bed in the not-too-distant future. Night all.

Glad the wind is settleing down a bit. Have a good night.

Hi, The weather here in N.Wales is very windy and think we have had bad gales in the night. as there are slates on my car roof.Must move it into a garage, but my son has taken it over with what he thinks is a future rally car, I think it is scrap metal..lol.Sorry about the death of another climber,as my friend's husband was once a serious climber and he lost many friends to the 'elements' during the climb.I hate wind and rain, give me back the old seasons where we were prepared, (not always as Micheal Fish could prove to be wrong) but crisp cold winters, the first sign of Spring with a carpet of daffs brightening the days and a long hot summer, which meant we could stay home and enjoy Britain.
ReplyDeleteThanx for your comment on my journal, you are right.
