California is on fire

Several J-landers in California report on the fires that are raging out of control in their state. Pam (who writes a private journal) is due to visit her son, but has to pass a large blaze on the way. Kelli (noonmom) is preparing to evacuate.

If you're in California and under threat from the fires, please follow instructions from authorities. Stay calm, and be prepared. Your life is more important than possessions. Possessions can, on the whole, be replaced. Your life cannot.

  5. It happens every year...the Santa Ana winds are one of those weird weather phenomeons.  I've called a friend in San Diego to see if those fires are close to her & she didn't answer.  Hope she's just out to dinner with friends & not evacuated.  My sister-in-law grew up in Santa Barbara, CA and there are fires there too.  One year, her sister was about to get married...the fires were getting closer.  They all loaded the wedding dress, presents and other necessities in cars and headed down out of the hills to safety.  The fire burned to about 50 feet from the back of her parents house & stopped.   Western Washington is sending groups of firemen and trucks to the California fires this week.  Some have already left.  They are from areas where they fight primarily forest fires and that season has passed for us. 11. I thank you on behalf of all those you've prayed for here.....  they can ALL sure use it.  Several friends and a few co-workers of mine have been evacuated, some don't know if they have a home or not anymore, and the firefighters are working so hard and really need relief, some of the livestock is running wild and scared, now, the air quality is unbelievable.  Keep those prayers coming!!!
