Sunday notes

Feeling cold outside, having just been to the bottle bank [recycling bin] down the road with the New Year empties. No, I'm not telling how many. It is grey out here, with another showing passing by. It looks as if we're slowly sliding down towards more average winter weather, with hail and sleet later in the week.

It's Sunday, so there was hardly anything stirring in the streets. The ferry crew appears to be working on the ship, and the Arran ferry went by in the middle of the Minch on its way to refit in Aberdeen. Our ferry will be heading for refit later in the winter. I have this very useful website which shows ships in the Minch (the area of sea between the Outer Hebrides and the Scottish mainland). If they choose to have their data included. A fishing boat left port at midday, and that did NOT show up. Have a look for yourself. Earlier on, an oiltanker passed through on its way to Primorsk, a port near St Petersburg, and a freighter, making for Sweden.

  1. It's very greay and windy here too! Sundays always seem to have a certain quiet air about them don't they?! Jeannette xx  http://journals.aol.co.uk/jlocorriere05/Welcometomytravels/

  5. We had a little sleet last night, and are expecting some snow showers tomorrow.  Maybe we're finally getting more normal weather here, as well.
