Evening

Had to escort somebody to hospital this evening with a persistent nosebleed. Fortunately, the patient didn't need to stay in, and was allowed home after the bleeding stopped. Had it failed to stop, the nose would have had to be packed with gauze (not nice) and overnight hospitalisation would have been necessary.

I've added two things to my sidebar: the Christmas bells are courtesy Donna and the thingy "Behind every monitor is a person with feelings very much like your own - THINK BEFORE YOU TYPE" I snagged from Lisa Jo.

A minute ago, hail, snow and rain were coming down, in temperatures of 3C / 37F. It's very cold. Although not as severe as some J-landers are experiencing in the USA with temperatures anywhere between -10C and -15C. Storms are forecast for Sunday. Of course, the focus is on rain, but I wouldn't be surprised to see winds of force 9 or higher.

  1. I have that saying on my sidebar, too!  It's so true!
    Glad the nosebleed stopped.
And the weather....man I gotta be grateful for 40F at night here.  Back east it's so cold it HURTS!

  2. eeek...packing with gauze!  Makes me cringe!  I had to have my mouth packed with gauze when I had dental work done.  It gave me the willies so bad....I can only imagine having it stuffed up the nose!

I've still got warm temps where I am....52 degrees currently at 8:00PM

  3. I like that, very much, think before you type. In this one dimensional world (Internet) , words stacked the right way together, can certainly envoke an entirely different image then a person may or may not have wanted.
    Stay warm over there!

  4. My ex had to have gauze up his nose, yards of it when he had polyps removed. He went out to have a sneaky cigarette and set light to the gauze, the image of him smacking his nose to put the fire out will live in my mind forever! Lol! It's cold here and windy but we do have sunshine today.
