Thursday notes

Bright but cloudy morning, after a decidedly dreich start. The oiltanks at the powerstation are  continuing to come down, with top half of the tank I featured yesterday now completely gone.

By the time I submit this entry, a 48 hour postal strike will be starting across the UK. A second stoppage is planned for this coming Monday. Pay and conditions are at the heart of the dispute, with Royal Mail saying changes are necessary to be able to operate in a competitive marketplace. It no longer has the monopoly, and it is feared that business will go to an increasing number of private companies. The delivery of mail will be delayed by a week, it is feared.

  2. Oh, I actually needed that postal strike warning, well, friends ordering Irish step dance shoes from Ireland need this warning.  Then again, the shoes will likely just be sent via private forms of mail instead.  This strike may not benefit the postal workers if everyone then turns to private options.

  3. Fog finally lifted here to a sunny day.  Hope the sun will come out for you too.  Hope there will be a change with the delivery of the mail and it will come sooner, than later!
    Take care!

  7. Our weather was ok on Thursday...I think it got up to about 62 degrees.  No rain that I noticed, I was busy here in the house.  All I did notice was the sun shining thru the windows.  My kitchen window faces the west & I had to close the blind when I was doing dinner dishes, as the setting sun was right in my face.  Linda in Washington state
