Attitudes

As I said earlier, our weather has taken a turn for the worse. It does help to highlight different attitudes to the weather. Some people do not mind the weather - you don't come to the Hebrides for the weather. Others moan no end. I even remember a cyclist who had booked in, but rang in half an hour beforehand, saying he was going on the ferry to the mainland to be picked up by his wife. He was so wet and miserable, that he had abandoned the idea of cycling the remaining 25 miles to the Butt of Lewis (and back). Others wax lyrical, in spite of the rain. But when the sun does come out - it is even better.

  1. I saw Scotland in the rain and howling winds as well as hailstones.  It looksed spectacular in all its moods.  Hail, rain and shine.  If we waited for decent weather here in the British Isles before going on holiday then we would grow cobwebs first!
I might witter about the rain and bad weather, but it has never stopped me from going out in it.  Its challenging to say the least.  I reckon our weather is what makes we Brits so stoic.  Anyway..that cyclist can't have ever owned a dog.  Dog owners have no choice but to go out in all weathers....we are a hardy breed.    Lol!

  2. Who could moan about Scottish weather, it's "magical melancholy" very much expected, inspiring even.  CATHY
