Tuesday notes

Reasonably nice and breezy today, with temperatures at 16C at the moment. Warnings are outstanding for very wind and wet weather, but NOT for northern Scotland, which appears to escape the worst of the bad weather, forecast for later this week. Makes a change.

Hawaii is getting ready for hurricane Flossie, which is conveniently tearing itself apart on approach to the islands. Winds of 80 knots [90 mph] around the centre by the time it passes closest to the Big Island, which is likely to see tropical storm force conditions with winds up to force 11 on the Beaufort scale.
