Needed to push out the hurricane news first. Weather here remains dreich, with heavy rain at the moment. Yesterday, a 100,000 dwt tanker was anchored a couple of miles southeast of Stornoway, within plain sight of the port. She was called the Bertora. The vessel left during the night.
Jobs in the town's fish processing industry are at risk, now that operator Marine Harvest will amalgamate its operations across the northwest of Scotland to a location on the mainland. This jeopardises 200 jobs here.

Surely they can't leave so many folks out of work Guido! Will this mean that some will leave to follow the work...or not?

Poor souls! Unemployment can be devastating...it is RIFE here in South Africa and leads to terrible crime!! Hope something will be done...
