A major fire has broken out at the Grand Hotel in Brighton, with smoke reported to come out of the roof. All guests and staff have been evacuated to safety, whilst firecrews deal with the blaze. The fire started on the first or in the basement of the hotel.
The Grand Hotel was seriously damaged in 1984, when the IRA bombed it during the Conservative Party conference there. Prime Minister at the time, Margaret Thatcher, was not injured, but several people died.
