Exploding windturbine

Last Friday, a windturbine blew up in Denmark, after its breaking systems failed. It was a very windy day, and the turbine was spinning out of control. Denmark's TV2 carries a short clip of the actual disintegration.

And we're supposed to get 300 of those things in Lewis? Oh help.

  1. That's a dramatic bit of video, there, Guido!  I can't imagine putting something like that up without stringent safeguards.

  6. THAT is scary. Very scary. Given they are also being placed on England's south shores out in the sea, one wonders if a certain berth is now going to have to be given to sail around them, for fear of their imploding like that.

  7. Interesting Guido.  This should be a bit of ammunition, for those who are campaigning against these ugly intrusive machines, to fire at the authorities who put them up.
    Scary video!
