Was taken round the West Side of Lewis this morning so went on a snapping spree along the way, as I am wont to do. We went up the Pentland Road over to Breasclete, then north to Tolsta Chaolais, Carloway, Gearrannan, then east to Dalmore and Dalbeg. It's a 40 miles round trip, which (with all the sight-seeing - not) took about 2½ hours. There was hardly a soul on the road.

You can see how deserted it is and it looks a bit bleak and chilly as well. Great photos.

Dalmore Beach is stunning. I am so into waves breaking on the shore. The water looks so clear and pure. Cold too I suspect.
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely trip out today.
I will be back again to browse.
Thanks for the tour Guido. Once again spectacular views.
Princess Anne gets around on the quiet ...doesn't she?

I always love your photos. I especially liked the sheep and #38 the view of the sea. Looks like you had a nice drive! Phyllis

Guido, I am still looking at how I can get to Scotland and see in person some of the places that you have pictured for us.
ReplyDeleteHow would one get there from the USA east coast?
What major airport would I have to fly into and then how would it be best to proceed? Whaat time of the year would be best for a trip? I prefer hot weather to cold for sure. Bill

I loved the pictures of the beach, reminds me of the beach in Oregon, cept there are a few more trees around there. The blackhouses were interesting also, they looked very cozy inside, but I bet it's cold around that water right now. Joni
