Since midday, the wind has dropped away a little - we no longer see winds in excess of 50 mph, it is half that speed now. Still blustery, though. As I type, the sun is trying come out. Although the ferry did not sail first thing, it did depart more or less on time at 2pm. Will be a bumpy crossing I'd imagine.
Apologies to those who tried to follow the links in previous entry. I have now amended them. At least a little ray of light amidst the bad news, even though even that was tinged with sadness. A baby boy was found in a field, about 100 yards from where his home once stood, before it was destroyed in one of the Tennessee tornadoes. Rescuers initially thought they had found a doll, but then it moved. The boy's mother was found dead nearby. She probably tried to shield him from nature's ferocity.

I read about the baby boy, very happy he's ok, but so sad that he lost his mom.

I saw that dear little boy on the news this morning, how tragic he lost his mother. My heart breaks for the folks who have lost their loved ones and their homes - it is just so sad. Happy to hear you are not enduring high winds any longer.

Just saw that little boy on the news, with all his little face scratched, miraculous that he survived. Sad news though about his mommy.

That boy made all the cover of my local newspaper. I'm glad he survived, wish his mother had, also, but I agree, she likely tried to protect him and seems she DID, while losing her own life.
ReplyDeleteI saw him on TV Guido. Poor little lad! How sad his mother Kerry died protecting him.
ReplyDeleteWhat an awful terror she must have felt for him through it all.
God rest her soul.
