Luskentyre is Britain's best beach

Says travel writer Simon Calder. He wrote in the Independent newspaper on August 3rd, and the Stornoway Gazette quotes bits of his article in this post. Accolade of course appreciated, but how about some images of the beach itself, taken by me a year ago - as shown above.

For reference, Luskentyre [Losgaintir in Gaelic] lies 50 miles south of Stornoway, just over 10 miles south of Harris' main village of Tarbert on the west coast of the island. The green arrow on the below map shows its location.
