Wireless worries

Are you connecting to the web through your own wireless network at home? If you are not careful, your network connection could be used by anyone with a laptop with wireless capability. Do you want that? Don't think so. In actual fact, using someone else's wireless network without consent is illegal in the UK.

MSN have listed a series of measures you can take to keep your network to yourself and to keep your connection safe.

  1. Thanks for this info Guido Jan xx

  2. I didn't know this could happen, thanks for the information.

  3. I don't have a wireless connection...but one of my neighbors does. I found out 'cause a friend brought his laptop and we sat in my patio and he connected to the internet. He said someone in close vicinity had wireless. I couldn't believe it!

  4. thanks for the information guido, i have a wireless connection, i though it was quite safe with a password but i see that there are other things i can do. i will take a closer look at this and see to it. thanks, take care mrs t x

  5. We have three laptops and a Wii on wireless here at home.  It takes a bit of time and effort to set up the security on the router, but it is worth it.
