A second case of bluetongue has been found in a cow in Suffolk. This is bad news, and seemingly proof that the disease has now got an increasingly firm foothold in the UK. It was only a question of time before it would do so.

ReplyDeleteThis is not good news Guido. On top of foot and mouth this blue tongue is going to send some farmers to the wall if they don't eradicate this mosquito. You would have thought by now especially with malaria being so prevalent in African countries that they could have come up with some form of 'birth control' for these mossies. Mind you I wouldn't be a bit surprised if they already have done but its too expensive to use.

We were told recently that bluetongue had been found in some deer here in Indiana. We are hoping the person who told us was wrong.
