Lost in loo

A 77-year old great grandmother from Yorkshire, northern England, nipped into the public lavatory in Pickering on Monday evening. Very shortly afterwards, an attendant came to lock up for the night and shouted to check the building was empty. The lady did call back, but her reply went unheard and she found herself locked in. She did not have a mobile phone, neither was there any way to call for help. So, she put on 4 jumpers she had with her from a shopping trip and settled down for a night on the tiles, even managing to catch three winks of sleep. She was not liberated until 7 am the next morning, when the loos were reopened for the day. The police had meanwhile issued a nationwide missing person alert. The council has apologised profusely for the mishap, and has sent the lady a bunch of flowers.

  1. God Bless her!  I just watched this on the ten o'clock news.  She must have been really tired to have been able to snatch a wink or two's sleep.  I would have been busy switching the warm air hand driers on all night trying to stay warm.  I hate being cold.  It hurts too much!  I would have also had a go at kicking the door too.  For a while at least.
Bless her...she looked all right this evening though.

  7. Oh how awful!  At least she was able to get some sleep.  Hoepfully from now on, those who lock up will do some closer checking before they turn the key.  Linda in Washington state
