The National Hurricane Center in Miami has issued a special tropical disturbance statement for the eastern Gulf of Mexico.
A low pressure system, located 115 miles west southwest of St Petersburg, FL, is slowly drifting west. It could develop into a tropical depression over the next few days, and those along the northern Gulf Coast should monitor developments closely.
In the Eastern Pacific, Hurricane Ivo is moving north, and the forecasters haven't got the blindest bit of notion what it's going to do in a few days' time. That's really reassuring (not) for the folks in Baja California, which just might get Ivo on their plate for breakfast on Monday. Then again, they might not.
