Tuesday notes
After a very cold night (temps of 1C / 34F) rain has moved in from the Atlantic. Cruiseliner Astor lies anchored off Sandwick and is ferrying its 590 passengers ashore for excursions - in the rain. I went out at 9 am to take pictures. As I am typing this, the liner has inched its way into Glumag Harbour, opposite my viewpoint. I've just been reading back through the archives, and when she was last in, 230 of her passengers were left stranded ashore overnight. The weather deteriorated to galeforce winds, preventing the passengers from rejoining their ship. Today's forecast is actually similar to that of 21 May. More gales later today.
