Busy day here, with one couple departing for mainland Scotland by ferry, and another arriving by plane from the European continent. The latter had booked 6 months ago, and will be here for 2 weeks. I've already drawn up a list of things to do - just hope the weather holds. Although I am moaning about clouds and all, there is no real reason for complaint.
Am watching the starlings flock prior to their autumn migration, the 58 North yacht is sailing in the harbour. Yesterday, I was in the town centre, and a fishing boat was taking ice - accompanied by 4 seals. A few weeks ago, a seal had been lured into the Newton Basin, and the fisherman (in a small dinghy) was throwing fish to the animal. They are big beasts, so it caused quite a splash.

Getting towards the end of the season now Guido. Starlings preparing for the 'Off'.
ReplyDeleteYou remeinded me of the Common Seals we saw at Dunvegan earlier this year. Was that so long ago....? It seems so now.

ReplyDeleteI would love to be able to come to your place. What an experience...Linda in Washington state
ReplyDeleteHi Guido. I'm new to your journal. You're talking about visitors and booking and things to do, are you a tour guide? Run a B&B or hotel or something? Just curious! All the best, Linda
ReplyDeleteGuido I am relying on you, to ensure those starlings don't join a migration route to North Bucks - we are being invaded by them as it is - want you to catch them all and ring them (necks would be preferable lol). Place a strong magnet inside the rings and then, with luck, they'll winter at the North Pole. Keep laughing.
