Tropical storm Gabrielle will pass over the Outer Banks off North Carolina this afternoon, with winds up to 45 or 55 knots (that is 50 to 62 mph). Rainfall will range between 1 and 5 inches, and tornadoes are possible. After this passage, Gabrielle will move away northeast and disappear off the weathermaps within a day or two.
