Hurricane Felix is now blowing winds of 145 knots, that's a trifling 165 mph (270 kph), with gusts to 175 knots, 200 mph (320 kph). He's out at sea, but heading for the border between Nicaragua and Honduras. Latter country is going to get a battering tomorrow, not to mention a drenching. I am waiting for daylight hours in the western Caribbean (not too far away) for another pic of Felix.
Tropical storm Henriette is stifled in her aspiration for hurricane status through the proximity to land. It will traverse Baja California tomorrow, after giving the south of a the peninsula a trashing as a category 1 hurricane. Henriette will dissipate in northwestern Mexico or southern Arizona. In other words, get your umbrella out.
Finally, typhoon Fitow is going the slow road to Tokyo. Central Japan will see winds of 90 mph on Thursday.

I'm hearing on our news this morning that they are concerned about Felix. Meanwhile, our friends in Southern California are sweltering in triple digit heat. They just said that Phoenix, Arizona has had 30 days of 110 degrees...my gosh it was in the 80's when we were there in April. I can't understand how anyone can live there year around, even with the air conditioning. Linda in Washington where it's supposed to be 74 degrees today (perfect!)
