Hurricane update - 8 October

Typhoon Krosa is on its last legs, a marginal tropical storm south of Shanghai. It has wreaked havoc across eastern China, according to the BBC. Five million people had to be evacuated and there was extensive flooding. Taiwan was affected by more than 40 inches of rain (1,000 mm).

Typhoon Lekima, which struck Vietnam, has left chaos in its wake as well.
The flooding unearthed bombs from the Vietnam war, which have since been defused. More on this story from the same link above.
