Nice bright day, fairly breezy but not too cold. Thermometer shows 13C. Tomorrow is a different story, with rain spreading in from the Atlantic overnight. Should improve later in the day.
I am just fed up with the election-that-was-not. Turned off the telly a minute ago, which showed PM Gordon Brown talking about it to a horde of journalists at No 10. It is a piece of non-news if ever there was one. If anyone in the UK has access to BBC4, they should watch House of Cards tonight, Wednesday and Thursday at 9pm. It's a gripping yarn of political intrigue and murder most foul. I first watched it back in 1990. You may well think that, I couldn't possibly comment.
When I first joined AOL I became involved with a chatroom, which I've since left. There were several folks there who were quite literally two-faced, presenting two different identities on-line, although you'd never see them about at the same time. I am also aware that J-land in the USA works on a higher level than perhaps in the UK. By higher level I mean that people are more likely to know each other from actual contact, by phone or meeting. The outcome can work both ways, either nice or nasty. But the two-facedness can still emerge, nonetheless. I'm aware I'm being cryptic, but cannot go into details.

The House of Cards with the slippery Francis Urquart...he sent shivers down my spine when he threw......Oh, I mustn`t spoil the story...lol! A brilliant drama if ever there was one. I haven`t taken part in a chatroom for ages as I found them too cliquey and very abusive too.

I so know what you mean about chat room personnel. I still remain in the one i joined a few years ago, and still only have 4 people out of it i remain in constant touch with.
ReplyDeleteAs for current affairs...more spin..just more shallow than previously. Pathetic. I had hoped Mr Brown would become a heavy stomping, fist thumping this is how it's gonna be now lets get UK back on the road man. seemingly not.....so far....i stand to be corrected.
I am so sorry for the negative experience you had...
ReplyDeletebe well,
