My pictures seem to give the impression that Lewis is a treeless island. Not so. Above series of photographs were taking in the Castle Grounds, the park around Lews Castle, which has plenty trees.

Heard your entry ping into my in-box, whilst I was in the middle of getting tea organised, and am I glad I took a wee look see!
ReplyDeleteI had thought that your lovely island was devoid of trees. Thanks for sharing these spectacular views. Now I know different. I love woodland walks, as you know.
The castle is amazing! How old is it? I always wonder how they got all the materials to build these gread edifices. Surely it was all found on the island. But where do you find so many stone masons ????
I wonder????

Enjoyed your photos, Guido. I got a kick out of the chairs carved out of trees. I want one like the leaf chair for my backyard! The dog poop sign was kind of gross, though LOL!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful grounds around the castle.

Yes you do have trees, I even see everygreens. And of course that beautiful heather. We have a very rainy day here in Washington today. Joni
