Sheep on the loose!
A flock of sheep brought the centre of Stornoway to a standstill this morning (when I was still in the land of nod). They created a stir because of the ban on the movement of livestock in the wake of the foot and mouth outbreak down in Surrey. Police, SSPCA and animal health officers rounded up the sheep. They look good and fat. Must have been eating on all that grass resulting from all that rain this summer. Helen

ReplyDeleteOh dear, it reminds me that many years ago I came home from school to find two cows in my front garden and another in the house next door. Apparently the whole herd had escaped through an unlocked gate and it took the farmer hours to round them all up again. It`s something that I`ll always remember and it was the talk of the neighbourhood for some time. :o)

I would have laughed if they'd run by my house! LOL!
