Late night notes

It was pointed out to me that Kim (demandnlilchit) has been given only a very short period to live, anything from 3 days to 3 weeks. She has fought cancer valiantly, but the writing was on the wall from the moment she was diagnosed with untreatable secondaries earlier this year. There are already several dozen comments following this announcement. If you are keeping up to date with developments, I suggest you place Kim's journal on comments alerts.

I have placed the recording of Bach's St Matthew's Passion above this post for a reason. It is the final choral, one of the few pieces of music at the end of which I will have gone through an entire box of tissues. Roughly translated the verse runs: "We sit down in tears". After the Christmas we've had in J-land, that's not an exaggeration.

  1. Even if we expected it Guido, it is awful news coming so soon of the announcement of the death of Lahoma. I agree, we do sit down in tears.  I am now going to listen to your music and pray that Kim passes easily with little pain and that her family are given the strength to cope.

  2. TY for the post, as you know I made mention of this too on my main journal. What an end to 2007!
I placed I Can Only Imagine, my fav song on a (private journal) Religious Journal that I belong to, today for Lahoma & Kim.

  5. I like you Guido, & I think you keep a lot of people on aol journals connected in a good way,so this is not directed at this entry, but rather something that has been happening for days now in relation to Kim. I consider her a friend.  She took time to help me through something while she was ill herself.  I am not sure hundreds of comments saying I HOPE YOU AREN'T SUFFERING or the like does anyone, least of all her & her family, any good.
I'm also not quite sure a family member or close friend would leave a comment that she lay dying. I think there are times silence is golden.

  7. And in opposite order, wow, I didn't get an alert?, or did I miss one?, I'm reading this.  I'm sure that choral is exquisitively beautiful:)

    Some day, I'll get speakers.

    May she be in peace.

  9. I stated in the entry about her passing that I didn't know her but after checking the link provided here, I do remember reading her journal.  She is so young to die such an awful death.   Linda
