It's an interesting morning here - if you watch the webcam for a period of time, you'll see the showers passing by. Nice cloudscapes, but cold when one catches you out. Like what happened to me half an hour ago. A few snowflakes fell on me as I went round to get a few messages, as they say up here. Shopping is the more common term.
I should apologise for getting mixed-up in my Call for support last night, as it is actually the mother of Indigo's partner, Doc, who passed away. However, I wasn't that far off the mark, as Doc's mother was more of a mother to Indigo than her own mom appears to have been.
Stormy conditions continue along the US West Coast - I have yet to check my alerts, but the warnings from NWS that I quoted yesterday remain in place. Storm warnings have now also been put in place on the east coast of the US, from the Great South Channel to Hudson Canyon, including waters south of Martha's Vineyard and Nantucket Island. Please check the NWS for details.
President Vladimir Putin of Russia is probably a happy man today, after his party, United Russia, won more than 64% of the votes. His alleged campaign of obstruction, media bias and other tricks have downgraded the exercise to basically an unfair poll, impeding political pluralism. The link gives an overview of the problems that beset this election. What do you expect from an ex-KGB officer? Putin won a seat in the Duma (Russia's parliament), making it more than likely he'll become Prime Minister when he steps down from the Presidency next March.

Enjoyed the worldclock/webcam addition. Had so little snow in NY-NJ area it's gone already, just rainy, not even cold. Sorry ot hear about Indigo's loss, Doc's mom. No surprise for Putin there. CATHY

Here in PA we have high wind advisories in effect until 7 pm tonite. Thankfully the nasty sleet & rain have passed. "Messages" for shopping - I am going to use that and confuse the heck out of everyone around here!

No rain here at the moment.
ReplyDeleteI knew what you meant in your entry about Indigo. Like you said...you actually were right.
I'll check out the webcam.
Have a good day Guido...and BTW it was nice to talk to you in the Jland Chatroom.

Mr Putin is something else, a very clever & evil man. Linda in WA
ReplyDeleteI returned home last night to an e-mail from my aunt, outlining the distressful situation in their home (in Seattle burbs), thankful theirs was not as bad off as others even while theirs is, well, not good. Very high winds here yesterday, and cold, but not the storms they've received, nor NE.
