Sunday notes

Overcast day, but not windy and not too cold. Officially, the report gives me 30 mph winds, but here in town it's sheltered.

The wife of John Darwin, the man who disappeared in 2002 following a canoeing incident, was arrested at Manchester Airport upon her return to the UK. She will be interviewed regarding allegations of fraud; her husband is due to appear in court on Monday on similar charges.

Wales has been severely affected by bad weather, ahead of "Storm Isaac". Winds of 70 mph were measured at the Mumbles, Swansea, and a landslide took away gardens and sheds near Port Talbot and Maesteg in South Wales. Flooding has closed several roads. Read more here.

  2. The Darwins now face all the shame and so they should, They all ways say the past comes back and bites you on the bum when you least expect it. We had the first snow fall of winter yesterday and heavy rain. Lovely sunday morning though, sunny and crisp, going overcast now.
    Love and hugs

  4. I've heard on our TV news over here, speculations that he may have been living secretely in their house for sometime after or least during his so called disapperance.  What an awful thing to do to his children and elderly father, not to mention other family members and friends. And then there's the illegal part of this fraud.  Sad to hear about anyone loosing, their property due to slides.  I certainly know how devestating that can be after witnessing it first hand here in WA.  Linda
