1000 days at sea

The schooner Anne set forth from New York in 2007 with the aim of spending 1,000 days at sea, without calling into ports for resupply. Until a few days ago, the boat had two crew, but due to weeks of seasickness, one of them had to leave. Now it is only one. Why not keep up with this amazing voyage, which still has 683 days to run.

  1. I can't even imagine being at sea that long without stopping in port.  Hats off to him if he can do it.

A schooner has three masts.  I can't imagine that type of boat being single handed for any extent of time unless all sails are fully automated.  I hope a substitute is transferred onboard at some point in the near future.
