J-land Photoshoot #128

This week's subject is Pets. At the moment, I haven't got a pet.

Strider passed over the Rainbow Bridge in June 2004, aged 16. He had suffered kidney failure all his life and had been on a strictly low-protein diet. The cat himself didn't give a pin about that, and went on to eat 3 mice a day, every day. His problem was evident in a huge thirst, and he would drink from every source of water - whether it be a dripping tap, water basin, toilet bowl or even a small basin containing lit, floating candles.

  1. A handsome cat for all that.  He had unusual markings.  Almost like a jacket and white shirt.
Strider obviously knew what he needed regardless of his kidneys.  He still lived to a good age for all that.
A perfect photo.  Look how his whiskers contrast agains his black face.
I wish I were sitting in the sunlight like him.  I'm sure you do too Guido going by your weather report earlier.

  12. What a beautiful cat and I love how he's sitting so proud there.  I'm sorry he's no longer with you, 16 years though is a good life.  Especially if he had kidney issues.

Thanks for sharing him with us.
