Don't go too fast in trying keyboard shortcuts. That just lost me the entry, sigh. Start again.
I would like to confer the honours of Nice Matters on the following five folks.
David [Sunshine Colorado Notes], who writes about his walks in the wilds with his dog Milo, and about the happenings in his small community, just outside Boulder, Colorado. Sunshine is a former mining community, with a strangely fascinating history. We are kept abreast with current events, in which David himself plays no mean role.
Sam [Dock Lines] is down by the seafront in Georgia, looking after a marina. I can empathise with his position, being down at sealevel myself. If he isn't busy at harbour master, he is learning to play the guitar. Unfortunately, the former often takes precedence over the latter. Sam also plays host to any passing J-landers, and gives the impression of a decent guy.
Kerry [Kerry's Chaos] is valiantly piecing her life back together after the tragic loss in stillbirth of a baby daughter, Laila, 18 months ago. Kerry is once more pregnant, and by all accounts, it appears to be a healthy baby girl on the way later this year. Her boys are all involved in the new arrival, and I'm pleased the family is now so happy.
Gerry [Daughters of the Shadow Men] has unashamedly and purposefully put her life out on the Internet, in order to come to terms with abuse at an early age. Apart from her memoirs (now well over 100 entries), there is also the struggle to keep her partner Doc away from the demon drink, and her own urges in check. In fact, a very human and original person.
Indigo [Raven's Lament] is a prominent member of our community, who is having a battle royal to adjust to the changes in relationship with her daughter as she seeks independence as an adult. Coupled with horrendous memories of abuse and the loss of the faculty of hearing, there is the appearance of a tough exterior. But with a soft core.

ReplyDeleteI am humbled and honored that you have chosen me for this award. Thank You. I'll try and post my five picks soon. I find I am in some very interesting company here. Indigo I know, read, and admire. The others are new to me and I shall enjoy following the links and getting aquainted. Thanks again!
Sam
Thank you my friend I'm truly honored to have been chosen for this award. Wonderful choices on the other picks as well. You for one are definitely worthy of this award, your compassion and empathy outweigh us all. (Hugs) Indigo
ReplyDeleteGreat choices Guido! I shall pop over and congratulate.
ReplyDeleteComing from you, Guido, this award means something as I know you have had difficulty just reading some of my entries about harrowing events in my life. I have taken a leaf out of your book by calling attention to those who are having a struggle who move me and keep my attention focused on what is happening to them. I think they benefit so much by a recognition in a journal of their pain and a call for support. Thank you. This is inspiring thoughts of some sort of response that I will give some more thought.
